The Office of International Relations (OIR) is an important arm of the administration of the University of Jordan, with the purpose of spearheading, following-up on and managing the university’s international operations, agreements and MoU’s, exchange programs, grants, and international study abroad programs. The office enriches the university campus by holding high-caliber conferences, workshops and seminars.
The Office consists of three sections:
* The Agreements, Scholarships, and Cooperation Section which is responsible for the drafting, following-up on, and finalization
of UJ’s agreements and MoU’s with the international partners, in addition to the management of and following-up on a
number of international scholarships to UJ’s students and staff.
* The University Sponsored Studies Section which is in charge of all academic and financial matters related to hundreds of UJ-
sponsored scholars pursuing their master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Jordan and abroad.
- OIR’s responsibilities include:
- - Developing, on behalf of the President, new global partnerships.
- - Acting as liaison for the President on international initiatives.
- - Pursuing the drafting and implementation of agreements and MoU’s.
- - Providing information on resources of international education.
- - Producing publications on UJ’s activities and programs and promotional materials in English.
- - Establishing linkages with international institutions of higher education for exchange and collaboration.
- - Managing study abroad programs such as CIEE.
- Handling all matters pertaining to UJ's international partnerships.
