The museum was established in 1980, with the objective of preserving Jordan's folkloric heritage. It houses items representing the evolution of life in Jordan during different periods and illustrates the lifestyle of the Jordanian societies in the villages and the badia before the spread of western patterns of life in the region. At the same time, the acquisitions reveal the individual's ability to face natural challenge.
