The Faculty of Nursing main strengths are:

- Teamwork approach (evidenced by shared decisions as a result of meetings of faculty members).
- Clear job description for administration and faculty members.
- Effective faculty committee membership both inside and outside the University. Evidenced by multi contributions to the local and international society.
- Strong international connections. Evidenced by specific links and signed Memorandums of Understanding, ten-year exchange programs with Sweden and Brigham Young University.
- Thorough documentation system. Evidenced by minutes, notes, proper filing, and application of rules and regulations at both the departmental and faculty levels.
- Proper information system. Evidenced by the filing routine and by the process of gathering information from faculty members and students via frequent meetings and open channels of communication at all administrative levels.
- Clear plan for faculty members and staff development. Evidenced by the five-year scholarship plan and by the different criteria allowing faculty members enrollment in study on-the-job, and the involvement in different continuing education activities including specialized workshops and seminars.
- Controlling the quality of students’ output. Evidenced by the comprehensive training course with its specific instructions along with comments received by external examiners.
- Effective utilization of national and international resources. Evidenced by the use of University's and the local experts, and international consultants, i.e. Fulbright Scholars, and Swedish Consultants.Collaborative relationships at the University, local, regional and international levels. Evidenced by faculty members' enrollment in teaching consultation, external examinations assignments, journal reviewers, and participation in reviews and scientific activities at all levels.
- Faculty’s image and recognition. Evidenced by the Faculty’s strong relation with different international universities, exchange of faculty and students collaborative research projects, and winning of four awards in the year 2005/2006 as follows: (1) Prince Hasan Bin Talal Award for Scientific Excellence, (2) University of Jordan Award for Scientific Excellence, (3) Two faculty members' awards for excellence in scientific research at both the university and the Ministry of Higher Education level, (4) Two student awards for extracurricular activities.
- The application of several problem-solving strategies with faculty members, staff, and students. Evidenced by few numbers of faculty members and staff complaints and the internal resolution of several student concerns.
- The application of quality control measures as evidenced by the formulation of the Quality Assurance Committee at the University level, headed by the Vice-President for Scientific Affairs, and the appointment of the “Assistant Dean for Development” at the FoN level.
- The geographical location and national reputation of the University of Jordan that allows and facilitates the FoN communication with local, regional, and international agencies, and expands the connections and collaborative efforts to the benefits of faculty members and students. Evidenced by funded grants from international and national institutions, and Faculty’s involvement in specialized programs and national health committees.
- Using English as instruction language allows the FoN students and graduates to follow up-to-date scientific development in nursing and health care sciences, and increases the opportunities for FoN graduates to pursue higher education and regional and international job opportunities. Evidenced by official communication letters, course syllabi and text books, high number of applications to the Master and PhD programs, publications in international journals, serving in editorial board of scientific journals.
- Clear simple communication model used at the FoN among the faculty members and between students and faculty members that enhances the students’ academic and social development. Evidenced by Faculty committees; hierarchy of administration within and between departments; and presence of the Assistant Deans for Students Affairs, Development, and Clinical Training.
- The FoN role as a nursing human resource development center, through the community-based nursing development programs that nurture society with qualified nursing professionals. Evidenced by the diploma in Oncology Nursing program and the conduct of advanced workshops and training courses.
