The faculty has strong connection with the community. Its students and graduates are active participants in their communities. They provide care, health education; consultations, health fairs and free services on volunteer basis. During their training, students and their teachers are actual care providers for the people.

The Faculty of Nursing is recognized as a member in the Association for the Colleges of Nursing at the Arab Universities Alumni. The Faculty has several collaborative projects with educational institutions internationally, including: Charles Darwin University, Australia; Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA; The University Court of Caledonian University, Glasgow, UK; The University of British Columbia School of Nursing, British; and Felician College, New Jersey, USA. This is in addition to an exchange with the Brigham Young University in Utah, USA. Three exchange programs for teachers, students, and nurses with Boras University and Gothenburg University in Sweden have existed since 1995 and funded by SIDA.
