The Faculty has steadily established direct and fruitful links with the local community as exemplified in the following activities:

The establishment of the Social Work Program which focuses on social activities such as Child Welfare and Protection, Marriage and Family Studies, and Social Work in Health. The Community Development Center was founded in Sweileh to provide such activities.

The Department of Archaeology carries out intensive excavations and welcomes school students and foreign visitors to its museum.

The Department of Sociology provides visitors with an opportunity to inspect the holdings of its Folklore Museum.

Many faculty members deliver lectures on and off campus serving local communities.

Two representatives from the local community members are selected to join the Faculty Council, each year, to participate and exchange ideas regarding the Faculty's activities and development plans.
