News Details: His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein has conferred The Order of Hussein, First order, on The University of Jordan, in recognition of its outstanding efforts in the educational process since its founding in 1962, the medal was received by the president of UJ, Prof.  EKhalif Al-Tarawneh.
 
This came during a ceremony at Raghadan Palace marking the 66th anniversary of Jordan’s independence on Friday, in where the King has conferred Royal decorations on a number of national institutions and figures, in recognition of their efforts in building and promoting Jordan.
 
At the ceremony, attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania AL Abdullah and HRH Crown Prince Hussein Ibn Abdullah, a number of princes, senior civilian and military officials and a number of guests, His Majesty has granted the National Commission for Demining and Rehabilitation, represented by Chairman of the Board his Highness Prince Mire'd Bin Ra'ad, Independence Medal (Al Istiklal) of First Order, for its excellence and hard work in getting rid of the threat of mines and reduce their impacts.
 
Also, His Majesty has bestowed Independence Medal (Al Istiklal) of the first order on the King Hussein Cancer Center in recognition of their key role in the treatment of cancer patients according to the best ways and methods used worldwide, the medal was received by the chief of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, Princess Ghida Talal.
 
Moreover, His Majesty the King has bestowed on the Secretary General of the Royal Court, Mr. Yousef Issawi, AL Kawkab medal of the first order for his sincere efforts during his long career.
 
In addition, the King has conferred the Independence Medal (Al Istiklal) of First Order on Madaba Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls in recognition of their outstanding efforts in the educational process, the medal was received by the school head, Ms. Mariam AL Ma'ae'ah.
 
The King has granted Jordanian Meningitis Foundation &
Caring for the Disabled from Meningitis the Independence Medal (Al Istiklal) of First Order for outstanding efforts in protecting the community from this disease, especially amongst children, the Medal was received by the Foundation president, Ms. Sana' AL Masri.
 
The King has granted the retired Brigadier General, Mr. Sa'ad AL-Zawaidah, The Order of Hussein for his efforts and outstanding contributions in the agricultural sector.
 
His Majesty has bestowed on the Engineer Ziad Khalaf AL-Manaseer and the Engineer Ebrahim Khalil Al-Salem The Order of Hussein, the first order, for their outstanding leadership in supporting the national economy and serving the community.
 
His Majesty the King has conferred The Order of Hussein, the first order, on the journalist Hashim Awad Khreisat for his efforts and his outstanding tender in press and Jordanian media in addition to granting Mr. Abdullah Shdeifat for his achievements in the field of voluntary and social work.
 
Furthermore, His Majesty has bestowed The Order of Hussein, the second order, on Sheikh Mohammed Rashad AL-Sharif for his sincere and outstanding efforts in the education of the Holy Quran, its sciences and provisions in addition to granting Dar EL Salaam for the elderly The Order of Hussein, the second order, for their noble efforts since its founding in 1976.
 
His Majesty the King has conferred the Independence Medal (Al Istiklal) of second Order on the artist Mr. Mahmoud Zouaydi for their efforts in highlighting the Jordanian heritage, customs, traditions and values in addition to granting Mr. Mahmoud Shehab the Independence Medal (Al Istiklal) of third Order in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the development of the art movement and drama.
 
As well, The King has bestowed the Independence Medal (Al Istiklal) of fourth Order on Ms. Nayfeh Rfifan AL-Majali in recognition of outstanding efforts in social work in addition to granting Ms. Huda matrook al Amamreh the Independence Medal (Al Istiklal) of fourth Order in recognition of outstanding efforts in local development.
