The University is governed by a Board of Trustees and two main councils: The University Council and The Deans' Council.

The Board of Trustees is in charge of supervising the general affairs of the University, ensures the implementation of the University's academic and educational policies, and further bolsters the University's links with the local community as well as help find resources to finance it.

The present Board of Trustees comprises the following members:

The University Council is responsible for drawing up the general policy of the University, evaluating its achievements, coordinating the activities of its various units and strengthening its ties with the community. Chaired by the President, the Council is made up of the following members:

The Deans' Council is responsible for executing the University policy, appointing and promoting faculty members, conferring academic degrees, creating academic departments, and evaluating the whole academic and scientific achievements of the University.

The Deans' Council, which is chaired by the President of the University, is made up of the Vice-Presidents and Deans of faculties and deanships.

The University President is empowered to oversee and run all academic, administrative and financial affairs. He is assisted by Vice-Presidents, faculty Deans and Directors of the training and research centers and administrative units.

There are presently three Vice-Presidents assisting the President in running the University affairs.
