The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Jordan, Prof. Talal Aburjai was named CEO of the Scientific Society of Faculties of Pharmacy in the Arab World.
The Society is one of the bodies of the Association of Arab Universities that was founded in 1996 and is supporting scientific projects carried out by the Faculties of Pharmacy in the Arab world.
The new Executive Committee was also named during the meeting of the Assembly of the Society, and included the following: Former Secretary General of the Society, Dr. Juma Zhori and Dr. Abdel Nasser Senjab from Egypt and Dr. Hussein Al Qadi from Yemen and Dr. Tayeb Mohammad Tayeb from Sudan, Dr. Ismail Niazi from Saudi Arabia, Dr. Mohamed Rahal from Lebanon, Dr. Mushtaq Talib from Iraq as well as Dr Khairi Salem from the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Mustafa Ghaferi from Libya and Dr. Tawfiq Al Qemari from Palestine, Dr. Majid Alwan from Yemen and Dr. Tawfiq Al Qemari from Palestine.
Also during the meeting, new members of the Scientific Research Committee were selected, including: Dr. Abdel Nasser Senjab from Egypt and members of Pharmaceutical industry committee consisted of: Dr. Nahed Murtada from Egypt and Dr. Suad Al Carp from Sudan and Dr. Mahmoud Triki from Libya.
The Academic Accreditation Committee included Dr. Khairi Salem from the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Yasser Bustnge from Jordan and Dr. Odai Aridah from Jordan.
During the meeting, which was attended by Assistant Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Mohamed Raafat, the Association accepted the Faculty of Pharmacy at the American University in Madaba in Jordan, and the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Hebron in Palestine and the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Karri in Sudan as new members in the Association.
The participants decided to hold the 6th Conference of the Society next year at Benghazi University.
