Abstract

Aptamers are short single stranded DNA, dsDNA, or RNA molecules selected by a method called SELEX. Aptamers can bind with high affinity and specificity, attributed to their specific three-dimensional shapes, to a large variety of targets, ranging from small molecules like ions to complex mixtures such as cancer cells.

This presentation talking about Aptamers definition, characteristics, applications, and the most new advances in Aptamers research. In addition to that, this presentation summarizes the successful in establishing the Aptamers technology in Jordan University because of large efforts and fund support from Hamdi Mango Center for Scientific Research.

• Introduction to Intellectual property and Technology Transfer, how to convert academic research results into commercial value.
• Description of the new structure (the main office and the branched offices) and the main aims of constructing such structure, and how will they benefit from it as researchers.

• Finally, a clarification of the services that we as a central office are able to provide for researchers and inventors, and a few examples of what we have we done before.
